The Hamilton Township Public Library invites community members of all ages to participate in The Great Library Card Makeover: Read. Dream. Design.
Contest Overview
Participants are encouraged to create original artwork inspired by the themes of reading, learning, imagination, community, or the library. The winning designs will be featured on new library cards released in September 2026, in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
Who Can Enter
Youth: Ages 4–12
Teens: Ages 13–17
Adults: Ages 18+
Design Guidelines
Theme: Reading, learning, imagination, community, or the library
Originality: Artwork must be 100% original (no AI-generated or plagiarized content)
Format: Use the official library template (available April 22)
Medium: Any 2D medium, including drawing, painting, digital art, or collage
📅 CONTEST TIMELINE
April 15 – June 15, 2026: Submissions Accepted
June 16 – July 10, 2026: Internal & Public Judging
July 15, 2026: Winners Announced!
September: New Cards Available 💳
📝 HOW TO ENTER
- GET THE TEMPLATE and ENTRY FORM: Download it here or pick up a print copy at the Library starting April 22, 2026
- CREATE: Use any 2D media (painting, digital, pencil, collage, etc.).
- No 3D art, copyrighted material, or AI-generated work.
- SUBMIT: Drop off your design and entry form in person or submit it digitally via email to lcaterson@hamiltonnjpl.org by June 15, 2026.
- Accepted files: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .pdf
⚖️ OFFICIAL RULES
✅ Eligibility: Must be a Hamilton Township resident or student✅ Originality: Must be 100% your own original work.
✅ Limit: One entry per person.
❌ Staff: Library staff and immediate family are not eligible.
Permissions and Fine Print
Submitted artwork may be displayed for promotional or reproducibility purposes. Artwork will not be returned. A parent or guardian’s signature is required for participants under 18.
