Online Presentation of When Women Lost the Vote: Revolutionary New Jersey, 1776-1807

January 24 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Some women and free people of color voted in New Jersey during the first three decades of New Jersey’s statehood. Join the Museum of the American Revolution for an online presentation on their special exhibition When Women Lost the Vote featuring new discoveries on this period in early New Jersey democracy and rare artifacts including a lady’s pocket on loan from Wallace House State Historic Site.

Admission is free. Email wallacedutch@dep.nj.gov to register and receive invitation to live broadcast. (Please note this presentation will NOT be recorded for later viewing.)

This presentation is sponsored by the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association with a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.

Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Site was home to two delegates to the Provincial Congress of New Jersey which adopted New Jersey’s first Constitution on July 2, 1776. Follow New Jersey’s role in the national struggle for women’s suffrage with our series of short videos on Facebook.
