The New Jersey State Library selected Baker & Taylor/Axis360 to partner in creating a new e-book collection available to library users statewide, made possible by CARES Act funding to the State.  This collection focuses more heavily on books for children and teens but includes adult titles as well.  All you need is your library card number and your library password.

E-books and audiobooks for all ages.  Works with ipad, Kindle, and Nook by downloading either the Overdrive or Libby app.   All you need is an Hamilton Public Library card, an email address, a device that meets system requirements, a free app and Internet access.

eLibraryNJ Libby App

Libby, by OverDrive – Use this app with ipad, Kindle or android tablets.

If you already, use Overdrive, you do not need to switch to Libby, but it is an easier user experience.

  1. Download the app to your device.
  2. When you open Libby for the first time it will help you find your library.
  3.  Enter your library card number.
  4. Borrow and place holds on books.
  5. Libby will ask you where you would like to read your selection.  This is where you can select your Kindle.  Otherwise you can read in the app.
  6. If you are on wi-fi, your selection will automatically download for when you are offline.  Otherwise, you can stream your selection.
  7. Books are automatically removed from your device on the due date.

eLibraryNJ Nook Download Instructions

Nook Download Instructions:

Go to
Click on Download an E-Book.
Click on eLibraryNJ.
Click on Sign In (upper right).
Choose Hamilton Public Library from the drop-down list.
Type in your library card number without spaces.
Click Sign in.
Click on Advanced Search. (upper right).
Choose EPub eBook or PDF eBook from the Formats field.
Include other search terms (author, title, subject, etc), if you wish.
Choose “Show only titles with copies available,” if you wish.
Click Search.
Narrow your search using options on the left or click on a book cover.
Click on Borrow.
Click on Download (next to the book cover), choose EPub eBook or PDF eBook.
Click Confirm & Download. A pop-up window will appear.
If prompted, choose Open with Adobe Digital Editions.
Click on OK. (If Adobe Digital Editions is not on your computer, you will be prompted to download it and create a user name and password.)
The eBook opens in Adobe Digital Editions.

The eBook is now downloaded onto your computer.

To move the eBook to your Nook
Connect the USB cord to your Nook and your computer. Turn on your Nook.
On Adobe Digital Editions screen, click on Library (upper left) or the picture of bookshelves.
Right click on eBook cover.
Choose Copy to Computer/Device and then NOOK.
eBook will transfer.
Disconnect the Nook and enjoy!
