LIBRARY BUDGET
The Library’s operating budget is funded by Hamilton residents from property tax revenues. According to state law, the Library receives 1/3 of a mill of township property tax revenues. This appropriation changes every year. Fiscal Year 2023Library Budget.
LIBRARY DONATIONS
Gifts can be made to the Hamilton Free Public Library.
A donation to the Library is a fitting way to honor or remember an individual and to benefit the community.
Donations made to the Hamilton Public Library are tax-deductible. Save your receipt for tax purposes.
LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Hamilton Board of Trustees is composed of nine members appointed by the Mayor.
The Library Board is responsible for hiring and evaluating the library director, planning for the Library’s future, formulating the policies that govern the internal operation and services of the Library and for reviewing those policies on a regular basis. It is the responsibility of the Board to secure adequate funds to carry out the Library’s mission and to formulate a budget.

The Library Board generally meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 5 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. The Board operates in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act.
