Kindle Download Instructions

Borrow Kindle books from Hamilton Free Public Library’s website and, with a click of a button, have them delivered to your Kindle device or free reading app.


Go to
Click on Download an E-Book.
Click on eLibraryNJ.
Click on Sign In (upper right).
Choose Hamilton Public Library from the drop-down list.
Type in your library card number without spaces.
Click Sign in.
Click on Advanced Search (upper right hand side).
Select Kindle Book from the Formats field.
Include other search terms (author, title, subject, etc), if you wish.
Choose “Show only titles with copies available,” if you wish.
Click Search.
Narrow your search using options on the left or click on a book cover.
Click on Borrow.
Click on Download (next to the book cover), choose Kindle Book.
Click Confirm & Download. (This will take you to the page.)
Click Get Library Book.
Sign into with your account information.
Choose where you want the eBook to be delivered. Click Continue.
The eBook will appear on your device as soon as it connects to Wi-Fi.

Note: Public library books require an active Wi-Fi connection for wireless delivery to a Kindle device. Library books will not be delivered via your Kindle’s 3G connection. If trying to send to a Kindle device and you do not have an active Wi-Fi connection, you may instead choose to load your library book via USB.

Connect your computer to your Kindle with your USB.
Click Download Now
Click on Save
Choose Kindle from My Computer locations.
Choose documents file
Click Save.
The eBook should appear on your Kindle. Enjoy!
